Mobile Barcoded Boarding Passes

mobilebrand_notagManaging passenger check-in at the airport is costly, time consuming and space constrained. Airlines need to increase the amount of “off airport” check-in, maximise bag drop and allow passengers to proceed directly to the gate.

As part of IATA 's “Simplifying the Business” initiative, airlines and airports have been able to advance the facilities of Internet Check-in and, more importantly, the ability for passengers to print their own boarding cards at home or in the office. By mobilising boarding pass delivery, passengers are no longer restricted to their home or office to complete check-in.

MobileBoard+ is an IATA compliant mobile boarding pass delivery platform allowing airlines and system integrators to simply deliver boarding passes using WAP, MMS and e-mail directly to passengers’ mobile devices. The optimised layout ensures the boarding pass and barcode are formatted correctly for readability for every handset. There is no requirement for the passenger to identify their handset make or model when requesting the mobile boarding pass. MobileBoard+ uses our unique animated barcodes which improves successful scan rate and also maintains the handset backlight.

MobileBoard+ has the ability to deliver boarding passes to the passenger wherever they are, without need to access a printer. This allows passengers to complete check-in and receive their boarding pass while away from the home or office and on the move.

We launched Europe’s first production paperless boarding system in May 2008 with bmi, integrating the MobileBoard+ platform into the bmi web check in. Amor Group also worked extensively with bmi ensuring ‘airport readiness’ and developing procedures for the launch of paperless boarding.

Austrian Airlines launched their innovative SMS “Push” check-in, where passengers are reminded and invited to check-in via SMS, with the whole process completed with three button clicks on a mobile phone.
