Appointment Of Three Directors Will Support Plans to Double Turnover By 2012

Amor Group, Scotland’s largest independent business technology company, has appointed three sales directors as part of its growth investment plan to support its objective of doubling turnover to £60million by 2012.

Amor Group, which comprises two businesses, Amor Pragma and Amor Real Time, was created in May 2009 following a £28million management buyout and provides business technology solutions, professional services and managed services.

The business has been reorganised to directly align with the sectors the group specialises in – energy, transport and the public sector – as well as managed services across the whole group.

All three sales directors have been selected on the basis of their track record and experience in their respective sectors.

Andy Corkhill has joined Amor Group as Energy Sales Director, Martin Bowman has taken up the post of Transport Sales Director and Paul White has become Managed Services Sales Director.  A fourth director is currently being recruited to head up sales in the public sector.

The Amor Group also has plans to create a further 150 jobs over the next three years, across its offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Houston and Coventry, where it is opening a new base in January 2010.

John Innes, Chief Executive Officer of the Amor Group, said the appointments were key to the future development of the company, following the MBO.

“We’re focused on ensuring we have the right people and solutions to deliver the best business technology services to clients, and we believe that our market sector focus is the most appropriate model to leverage our domain knowledge and experience,” he said.

“We have an ambitious plan to double our turnover in the next three years through increased solutions, annuity and international sales.

“To do that successfully, we need to continually develop our understanding of the business technology needs of our three key market sectors.

“Andy, Martin and Paul have been selected for their commercial expertise and we look forward to working with them to continue develop world class business technology solutions.”

Andy Corkhill has a strong consultancy and technical background, with expertise in sales and account management, and will be working with clients including Centrica, Scottish Power, BP, Shell and SONI.

After beginning his career on the Barclays Bank graduate induction programme for IT, he has worked in the IT industry for 25 years, with experience across retail, outsourcing and most recently, utilities.

He will be responsible for supporting the business unit heads in the development of new products and services for energy through the exploitation and further development of established solutions Amor Group has in the oil and gas and utilities sectors.

Martin Bowman joins Amor Group from Gael Ltd, a specialist solutions provider to the governance, risk and compliance market, where he held the position of sales director for the past four years.

He will be responsible for growing Amor Group’s core businesses across the mass transportation sector, but primarily building on its track record in aviation and working with clients such as BAA and BMI.

Having joined from ICM – Servo, Paul White brings more than 20 years experience in direct business to business sales, having worked in high end business information, capital finance, business continuity and IT managed services.

He will be responsible for developing and rolling out a new business strategy in the Amor Group’s newly established Managed Services division, which includes IT operational support, information management, data centre services and business continuity services including disaster recovery and workplace recovery.
