New £3.9Million Contract with Ofqual

Leading business technology solutions provider Amor Group has secured a £3.9million professional services contract with Ofqual, the regulator of qualifications, examinations and assessments in England.

The major four-year deal will see Amor Group developing a regulatory IT system and providing ongoing technical support for Ofqual.

Ofqual, which will become a non-ministerial Government department from 1 April and will report directly to Parliament, said the project was key to its new role.

The work was secured through the Buying Solutions UK public sector national procurement framework agreement – on which Amor Group is the only Scottish headquartered business approved to supply ICT Consultancy and Delivery Services.

The deal is expected to reinforce Amor Group’s growth ambitions, with a drive underway to recruit staff for new professional services roles, including IT project managers and developers.

Amor Group will also host the system in its comprehensive new data centre, based in Aberdeen.

The new contract comes on the back of other significant wins in the education and public sectors for Amor Group, and also securing a place on a Learning and Skills Council procurement framework.

Alastair O’Brien, Amor Group’s Public Sector Business Unit Director, said the selection further reinforced the company’s strengths in the education sector.

“This is a significant win for us and we are delighted that Ofqual chose the Amor Group. We are continuing to go from strength to strength, developing our expertise and client base in the education area.

“The public sector is a strategic market for us and being a Buying Solutions Supplier means that our services are made easily available to public sector organisations throughout the UK, such as Ofqual, as well as the education departments of the Scottish and Welsh Governments.

The work will be managed from Amor Group’s headquarters at India of Inchinnan, Glasgow, and its new office in Coventry, which is home to Ofqual and other clients in the education and public sectors.

The Coventry office will be manned by a team of sales staff, project managers, developers and consultants, whose remit will be to service established clients and grow this public sector practice.

Mr O’Brien added: “Our new office in Coventry is ideally located for working with Ofqual and it’s also the location of a number of existing and potential clients within the education sector in England and Wales, which opens up new opportunities for us and paves the way for the creation of new jobs for the West Midlands.”

Amor Group is a delivery partner to the public sector through a number of procurement frameworks, including the Learning and Skills Council, Buying Solutions Supplier and ESPO Home Care Monitoring and Rostering Solutions Framework, and existing major clients including the NHS, Scottish Government and the Welsh Assembly Government.
