The five-year contract is for round-the-clock on-site and remote support and maintenance of GCS, including Hydrocarbon+, Amor Group’s own hydrocarbon accounting solution, which was installed several years ago.
HRL is a subsidiary of UK-based energy group Centrica – the parent company of British Gas – and the operator of the offshore Morecambe gas fields as well as the gas processing terminals at Barrow-in-Furness.
The fields' combined remaining reserves are among the largest in the UK continental shelf and the terminal significantly contributes to UK gas production.
GCS is therefore critical to HRL’s operation and it requires a high performance support package.
Robert McSaveney, Amor Group’s Technical Director, said the new five-year contract was testament to the quality and level of support provided to HRL.
“We have worked with HRL since 1999 and have implemented numerous upgrades of Hydrocarbon+ in line with our product roadmap and to meet with their changing business requirements.
“We are delighted that the level of support we have provided to date has led to this new five-year contract, which underlines our position as the UK’s leading oil and gas IS service and solution provider.
“Hydrocarbon+ is an industry proven hydrocarbon management solution that provides the latest tools and techniques to help support offshore, terminal and pipeline operators meet the increasing demands of today’s oil and gas markets, including storage and LNG.
“We look forward to continuing to work with HRL at the Barrow-in-Furness terminals and exploring the possibility of new opportunities with the Centrica Energy group.”
Les Hall, HRL’s Special Projects Manager, said: “We have had a very successful working relationship with Amor Group over the past decade and have been impressed by the Hydrocarbon+ solution, which forms a key part of our essential hydrocarbon accounting and gas production management.
“We awarded this contract to Amor Group on the back of our long standing relationship with the company, and its long history of working in and understanding of the oil and gas sector.”
Hydrocarbon+ is a fully configurable end-to-end web-based solution that allows operators to accurately manage their hydrocarbon products plus all aspects of planning and reporting efficiently and cost effectively.

About
The North and South Morecambe gas fields are operated through Hydrocarbon Resources Ltd business.
The North Morecambe development incorporates one of the most sophisticated gas processing terminals in Europe. Offshore is a drilling and production platform, not normally manned, which can be operated remotely from either South Morecambe or the North Morecambe control room at Barrow-in-Furness.
All gas processing for the North Morecambe field takes place onshore, avoiding the need for complex equipment and providing substantial cost reductions.
Offshore at South Morecambe there is a central production complex and five further 'remote' platforms which are not normally manned. Gas from the remote drilling platforms is transported via a pipeline on the seabed to the central production platform and is then taken to the South Morecambe terminal at Barrow-in-Furness via a 36-inch pipeline.
The Bains field is also operated by Hydrocarbon Resources Ltd.
