Continued Growth Sees Creation Of 30 New Highly Skilled Professional And Technical Roles At Amor Group

Leading Scottish business technology solutions provider Amor Group is creating a further 30 new jobs as the company continues to exceed its targets for growth.

The posts have been created after major expansion over the past 12 months – including new business worth £23million – with its first set of financial results showing turnover of £30million.

The jobs boost has been welcomed by Scottish Enterprise, with whom Amor Group has worked closely on a number of key initiatives over the past 12 months.

Headquartered in Glasgow, Amor Group provides business technology solutions, professional services and managed services to customers in the energy, transport and public sectors, with a global client base that includes Shell, BAA and the NHS.

The new jobs are based in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Coventry, and include technical specialists, software developers, business analysts and project managers within each of Amor Group’s specialised teams.

The company has already taken on 90 additional staff this year and now employs 400 people across its five offices.

John Innes, Chief Executive Officer of Amor Group, said: “Since our management buy-out last May, we have been working towards our target of doubling turnover to £60million in the next three years.”

“Our key markets – the energy, transport and public sectors – continue to afford significant growth potential and we have secured a considerable amount of new business as well as places on several national buying frameworks.”

“Our success in securing new business means we are exceeding our targets for expansion. Given the current market conditions, we’re delighted not only to simply be creating jobs, but consistently generating positions for highly skilled people to join our business in order to meet demand across all sectors and help us to continue to grow.”

“Amor Group will have increased head count by well over 100 in the first half of 2010 after this latest recruitment drive, and this type of organic and sustainable growth can only be  good for the Scottish economy on the whole.”

Lena Wilson, chief executive of Scottish Enterprise, welcomed the news and praised Amor Group for its growth strategy.

“Amor Group’s growth ambitions, and its ability to realise these ambitions, are exemplary. This is exactly the kind of company we want to work with,” she said.

“Over the past year SE has assisted Amor Group with various strategically important projects, ranging from organisational development to strategic marketing, process and strategy development.”

“It’s great to see these projects making such a positive contribution to the company’s performance and opening up staff recruitment opportunities.”

Amor Group has introduced employee initiatives that recognise performance and success, and encourage contributions to the growth of the business in return for a share of profits.

The company also recently launched its inaugural charity partnership with ENABLE Scotland, a key part of Commit, the company’s new Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
