Charity Benefits From Amor Group's ICT Strategy Consultancy Expertise

Learning disability charity ENABLE Scotland is being supported through a major change to its ICT infrastructure and systems by leading business technology solutions provider Amor Group.

ENABLE Scotland, which is Amor Group’s chosen charity for the year, is currently upgrading its IT infrastructure, including replacing the existing email, finance, payroll and HR systems.

With the changes affecting the existing 320 users on the ENABLE Scotland network and impacting on the business systems and processes used by all 1,800 staff in the organisation, the charity will benefit from expertise, advice and support from Amor Group.

Amor Group appointed senior consultant Ian Whittaker to guide the charity through the changes, which aim to build the systems around the individuals ENABLE Scotland supports, as well as integrating information, increasing accessibility to data across its bases and reducing ongoing costs.

Ian said Amor Group was able to draw on its experience in change management.

“We have done a considerable amount of consultancy with organisations that are going through transformational projects so volunteering to help with the change management should benefit Enable Scotland,” he said.

“We are in a position to support ENABLE Scotland through this transitional phase and ensure that staff and users of the network understand and embrace the new IT systems, and we’ve been able to offer information and advice to the senior management team on training needs, communication and reporting. “The main driver behind the new infrastructure is to introduce a personal section for each of the people ENABLE Scotland works with, as well as generating cost savings through a more streamlined and efficient system.

“We have committed to work with the charity free of charge to help them through the change process and ensure buy-in from everyone involved, as well as offering additional help from our legal team where needed.

Karen Sheridan, Enable Scotland’s project manager, said: “We are delighted the Amor Group are supporting us in this way.  The group is not only raising funds for our work with people who have learning disabilities but also providing in-kind support so that our ICT systems make us even more efficient.  Their support means we can direct our resources where they are most needed – supporting children and adults who have learning disabilities.”

Amor Group will continue to provide advice and support over the coming year, as part of its inaugural charity partnership with ENABLE Scotland.

Support for a nominated charity is integral to Commit, Amor Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme, which is shaped and driven by a group of volunteers from across the company.

ENABLE Scotland was nominated by Amor Group staff, who are also being given the opportunity to take a day’s paid leave per year to carry out volunteer work with the charity’s projects.

The charity works with children and adults with learning disabilities, supporting them and their families to live, work and take part in their communities.

The work that ENABLE undertakes allows many of the children and adults to live independently, find jobs, develop an active social life, go on holiday or undertake training courses.

John Innes, Amor Group’s Chief Executive Officer, added: “We are delighted to be able to offer professional support to ENABLE Scotland, as the partnership is about much more than just donating money.

“We encourage all our staff to take an active role in Commit, which covers volunteering, fundraising, sponsorship, projects and social events – in partnership with our customers, suppliers and academia.”
