More than half of Amor Group’s revenue comes from the energy sector and this acquisition is seen as key to its aim of doubling turnover to £60million by 2012.
Headquartered in Aberdeen and with an annual turnover of £1.8million, DW Technology Services has a 20-year track record in the energy sector.
As well as an established international presence in all key oil and gas hubs, it brings in-depth knowledge of the oil services industry to Amor Group.
John Innes, Amor Group’s Chief Executive Officer, said the acquisition would enhance the breadth and international capability of the group.
“This is a major step forward for us as we continue to expand globally. We are delighted to have acquired DW Technology Services with its years of expertise and experience and we look forward to working with its staff and customers,” he said.
“DW Technology Services is unique in its offering, market expertise and international coverage and the acquisition was a strategic decision that will increase Amor Group's international footprint and strengthens our managed services capability in all major oil locations.
“Amor Group has 20 years of experience of providing services and solutions to the energy sector and we were looking for a suitable company to acquire. DW Technology Services is an ideal fit for us.
“DW Technology Services customers will continue to work with the same people as before but will have access to the extended specialist expertise we can offer, while our customers will greatly benefit from enhanced global reach and knowledge.
“The acquisition also broadens our managed services capability and expertise in ICT supply chain management.”
Brian Docherty, Co-Founder of DW Technology Services added: “Our customers will benefit from Amor's financial strength, robust infrastructure, processes, domain expertise and additional service and solution portfolio. Amor is a high growth organisation with a range of diverse opportunities throughout its key sectors of energy, transport and public sectors. We are looking forward to the next stage of growth generated from the combined strength of our businesses.”
Mr Innes added: “I’d like to welcome Kevin and Brian and all their staff to the Amor Group team and we look forward to working with them.”
Amor Group is continuing to seek further strategic acquisitions that will build the company’s offering to its key markets across the transport, public and energy sectors.
