This statement clarifies what information we gather, what we use it for, how long we keep it and how you may access it.
- What information do we gather?
We gather two types of information from the Internet.
The first is personal details volunteered by web visitors who request further information or register for an event. The details are stored in our contacts database so that we may identify who we can send relevant information to. You may opt out of receiving further information.
The second type of information is collected via cookies, utilised for data analysis. A cookie is a small file which requires permission to be placed on to your computer. Once allowed, your chosen web browser places the file on to your hard drive. These cookies help us analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. In other instances, cookies allow other websites and applications to personalise the user experience, tailoring its operations to your own preferences by gathering and remembering information about your previous sessions.
Cookies help Amor to provide you with a better website and more relevant content by enabling us to understand which pages you find useful and which you do not. The cookies collected in no way provide us access to your computer or any personal information about you, other than any data you have chosen to share with us. You may set your web browser to notify you of cookie placement requests or decline cookies completely and you can delete the files that contain cookies. Your browsing experience on the website should not be affected by doing so.
- What do we use it for?
Personal details are only used for the purposes of sending you information that you request. If you want no further contact, that is fine. We do not share contact information with any other organisations.
The site statistics are gathered collectively to help us understand patterns of site access so that we can optimise the site in terms of content and design.
- How long do we store the information?
Personal details are stored for up to one year before being removed from our database. After that, we assume the details are out of date and we will not contact you to verify their accuracy. If you have requested no further contact we must retain your contact record to ensure we do not send you further information.
Site statistics are only kept while they are useful. If our web site is redesigned or restructured, we gather the statistics afresh.
- How do you access contact details?
You are entitled to request access to the information if you think that we hold your personal details. However, proof of identity will be required to safeguard the privacy of our contacts. Requests for access should be directed to the Data Controller.
