ChromaFIDS - Multi-Modal Flight Information Display System
Information availability within an airport is a critical contributing factor to both a positive passenger experience and improved non-aviation revenue generation. A passenger who is provided with key information is more prepared for their progress through the airport, arriving airside more relaxed and with a greater propensity to spend in retail outlets.
Flight Information Display Screens (FIDS) are the primary source of information through the airport campus and provide operators with a prime opportunity to interact with a captive and active audience.
ChromaFIDS is a new generation of FIDS that goes beyond simple check-in and boarding information. ChromaFIDS, whilst functioning in the same way as a traditional FIDS system, is a truly multi-modal information source that can display data from more than one transport sector such as train, bus and coach information as well as flight data all from the same system.
This feature is currently used extensively at the Ground Transport Interchange at Manchester airport where passengers can choose from an array of different transport modes as well as standard flight information.
The system is directly integrated with ChromaAODB & ChromaACDB such that it reflects the very latest changes and amendments to operational data so that the travelling passengers always have access to the most up-to-date information.
ChromaFIDS also offers advanced advertising, branding and mobileinformation delivery functionality allowing airports to take full control of targeted, rule-based advertising campaigns supplemented by live flight updates direct to mobile devices.
